Non-exist of islamic view on something

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

if there is no Islamic view on something, can you do it? So for example with some cryptocurrencies there is no halal/haram classification, can I buy them and would I be committing a sin if I buy it and it turns out to be haram (without taking these haram profits)?

Trading with non-shariah compliant cryptocurrencies

Assalamualaykum, I had purchased a cryptocurrency with the intention of trading and selling it for a higher price. However after doing a bit of research it seems like the asset I had bought may not be shariah compliant, so I traded it back. For example: I purchased £1000 worth of the cryptocurrency $ABC. It is necessary to review and do a Shariah screening if it before you invest. So you must make sure it is halal.
