AsSalamu Alaykum, I am asking the question on behalf of my wife, she has Zakatable amount of gold. As now my wife is living in a different country than her home country where the gold is. Due to covid situation she can’t go home right now. As we are going through some financial difficulties so it is not possible for my wife to pay the zakat as my wife is dependent on me and I am also unemployed right now.Besides, she is not able to sell some the gold to pay zakat. So my question is what to do in such situation? is it okay to get loan to pay the zakat? JazakAllah Khayir.

You may make a note of the amount of Zakat that is due, and pay whatever small amount you can periodically to cover the liability. Even if it means paying £5 a month. When Allah grants you more, then do your best to pay the Zakat off.
