I am holding staked crypto for eg: DOT,SOL & ETH, my query is on how do I calculate zakat on them. To the best of my understanding the return from the staked crypto will be zakatable. For Eg: DOT & SOL return is zakatable but what about the underlying staked SOL & DOT. And for ETH, If I staked ETH I don’t know when the return will start as ETH is still going through the upgrade phases. In this instance if I have staked ETH is zakat paid as there is no value determined on the staked ETH or no zakat is payable on ETH and the staked assets?

In stock market if you hold shares for more then a lunar year you pay zakat only on dividend
So comparing to crypto if you have locked your coins for longterm it makes sense to only pay zakat on the yield

If the coin represents a halal project and staking that coin in POS concept is halal
