Working at Startup - equity offered

Assalaamu alaykum,

I’ve seen a job ad offered for a startup where alongside the salary, they’re also offering equity in the startup.

The startup is in a halal sector, but I’m wondering if there’s any other screening I need to do in order to tell if it’s compliant? Their only funding is from angel investors as far as I am aware.

Yes, you should try to ascertain the financials for shariah compliance of the equity.
