I have been working as IT engineer in a Corporate and Investment Banking in France for more than 4 years.
My work consists in integrating new applications (mainly programs of pre-trading /trading for Sales, Traders, Market Makers…), monitoring of the computer system, troubleshooting IT issues, providing IT support for those users … As example, the latest project I worked on was to integrate a CFD website (CFD:A contract for differences), developed by a fintech, into the banking infrastructure. Mainly my job was to get the servers ready, install the website components, making the monitoring of the application in case it breaks, training the support about how to handle the technical issues…
Is my work Halal or Haram as an IT engineer in the investment Bank ? As I am part of that IT department I am helping others on the sin even if my job is not it self Haram, Am I not? Thank you very much for your answer and the details that will provide
