What is the ruling for working as a junior analyst (intern) at a hedge fund?
In terms of the role I would be doing equity research on companies but given that I am a junior for the first few years, it will just be on companies selected by them. My work would not affect any investment decisions they make for the first few years as I am just double checking the work of my manager most of the time, to see if I get the same values when modelling or find the same information online.
I intend to stay for only a few years, so for those few years would the work I am doing be haram, given that the vast majority of work will not affect any investment decisions.
