On the Mufti side we have the two following Islamic finance expert Muftis:

1. Mufti Faraz Adam

Mufti Faraz Adam is a UK-based Islamic finance & fintech consultant and heads the Shariah advisory firm Amanah Finance Consultancy. He is an advisor to a number of well-known UK & international Islamic financial institutions and serves across the Islamic economy in Islamic banking, SME financing, Zakat, Waqf and estate planning. He holds a Masters Degree in Islamic Finance, Banking and Management from Newman University and has attained various finance-industry qualifications.

2. Mufti Billal Omarjee

Mufti Billal born on the French Island of Reunion where he memorised the Quran before moving to the UK at the age of 17. He completed his 6 years Islamic theology studies at the Darul Uloom Bury in 2004 under the guidance of many prestigious scholars of fiqh and hadith. He holds a BA in Banking and law in London in 2011 and subsequently also qualified as a Mufti. Mufti Billal also holds a post graduate diploma from the Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance, London along with “Certified Sukuk Professional” from Al Huda CIBE.

He has served as research assistant for Mufti Zubair Butt, chair of the Al Qalam Sharia Panel, served as Imam of Chingford Masjid, and served as Islamic law expert to National Zakat Foundation.

On the IFG side we have Ibrahim Khan. He will be commenting primarily from a commercial perspective.

Ibrahim holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford, an ijazah in the memorisation of the Qur’an from Egypt, and an MA in Islamic Banking and Finance from Markfield Institute. He also graduated from the Alimiyyah programme (traditional Islamic scholar) under the tutelage of Shaykh Akram Nadwi. He previously worked as a funds lawyer in London at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and, before that, Ashurst LLP. He has worked with 1st Ethical on their Halal Money strand and has lectured extensively on Islamic finance and zakat in mosques, universities, and schools around the UK. He is also the co-founder of Islamic clothing brand DesignMolvi.com with over 350k fans worldwide.
