Voluntary Excess? Car insurance

Asalamu alaykum Shaykh.

Comprehensive car insurance is much cheaper for me. So I was advised to get this instead of third-party only. As you probably know, I can increase my voluntary excess with comprehensive car insurance which reduces the amount I need to pay. Is this permissible?

Yes if the comprehensive cover is cheaper than you can go ahead with it.
