Assalaamu alaikum!
I work for a management consulting firm and so far have been able to avoid consulting for any haram industries (e.g., alcohol companies, banks, etc). However, there is a division of the firm that does due diligence for Private equity firms (e.g., providing information on potential acquisition targets). My company wants me to do a 6-9 month rotation there. I’m unsure about whether doing this rotation would be haram or not. I don’t plan to specialize in this (in fact, I plan on leaving the firm in the next 1-2 years) but I would like to know if I should push back and avoid this.
