Salam, is it halal being a tax adviser/ tax accountant?
A youtuber typed: That interest shows up in different areas: interest income, interest expense, 163j (interest expense limitation), etc. Sometimes we have to look at Promissory notes. Also, for individual returns, there are interest on mortgages.
Including all this, is the job haram?

It all depends on the duty involved in being an adviser or accountant. Some accounting role may and may not be permissible. Similarly working in the tax office can involved both, depending on what is your role exactly.
