Please could you give an islamic opinion on the following - would it be halal or haram.
A stock broker said if a client credits their account with £3,500 they will enter into a prize draw which could pay say £10,000.
The credit of £3.5k is not taken as fees or spent by the company.
The £3.5k can remain dormant or be invested as normal. If the money is not invested it must remain for a minimum for 55 days. On day 56 they announce the winner, so if not successful you can withdraw the £3.5k.
Further, the client may withdraw the £3.5k at anytime meaning before the 55 day period (not locked in) however to remain qualify it must be in the account for 55 days or invested.
If you win, would this prize money be halal or haram?
