Permissibility of working in Newspaper as IT Manager

AssalamuAlaikum,

I wanted to know the position of working as an IT manager in a newspaper organisation in the UK. Some of my friends suggest that they may push anti-islamic sentiment (from other newspapers within the organisation). I would be working in one of the divisions, which is a respected and good quality newspaper - not the trashy type newspapers.

The newspaper’s main purpose is to give political news, business news etc. I am talking about Newspapers like The Times, The Guardian etc.

I wanted to get the angle from someone with knowledge inshAllah.

Wa alaykum salaam,

As long as your job role is permissible, it would be permissible to work in such a role. In fact, you can prove to be important by representing Islam and Muslims in such industries.
