Just wanted to ask if it’s okay to request payments in advance of service i.e tutoring? I’m planning to ask for monthly payments in advance of the sessions just to make sure people pay instead of at the end?

This us a very good question. What I will suggest is that you can request for a fixed deposit for the service and if the client misses payment the deposit will be used up and will only be able to utilise the service only when the deposit and payment is made.
You are can also request for payment at the beginning of each slot for tutoring. Pay at the beginning of each session.
