Paying for a product that has to be made

I had a question regarding a product that I would like to buy. Is it permissible to pay in advance (deposit or full) for a product that still has to be made by the manufacturer? What are the general stuff that I need to know.

May Allah bless you.

As long as the description of the item is clear and halal in itself, the price and the delivery date are both fixed, then it should be fine.
