Assalamu Alaykum,
Is it Halal if I run a pool to participate in the Harmony ONE PoS blockchain? Verifiers/nodes get paid based on their stake and for verifying transactions.
As a concept, I believe Harmony ONE blockchain will make money transfer internationally much more cost effective and fast. However, I have concerns regarding Smart Contracts deployments on their blockchain.
I don’t understand Smart Contracts clearly and I don’t know how they’re enforced in the network. However, assume a contract is written to lend some part B from part A some tokens under the condition that part B pays interest when paying the loan, does that mean fees collected on processing the contract haram? The fees are for transaction validation not from interest.
The question is: given that it is hard to know the contract context and that it could be anything not just ribaa-based. Is it haram to participate in the network to validate?
Jazakum Allahu Khairan
