I have recently taken up a Sales Advisor job at a big storage company. As part of my job, I will have to write up contracts for customers and involved in this is a type of insurance called Contents Protection. It works by charging the customer a certain fee every month depending on the value of the storage they have. My understanding is that this is mandatory for all storage companies in the country. Is it permissible to carry on this job?
JazakAllah Khair.
May Allah bless you.
Yes if this is mandatory on all storage companies, then the fact that you have to include it into a contract as part of your job (provided the role itself is halal), is acceptable. However, always try to keep an eye out for something which has got nothing haram involved.
And Allah knows best!
