I got an offer to work for Discover Financial Services. Managing their digital and cards products in the Middle East and Africa. The company owns a conventional (non-Islamic) bank in the US (Discover Bank). The bank offers loans on interest and issues Discover credit cards. The bank operates only in the US. I’ll be working in the Middle East and the business model of Discover outside the US is similar to VISA and Mastercard (they don’t issue cards, they only provides the network to connect issuers with merchants). However most company’s profit is coming from their US business. Will that make my work with Discover in the Middle East haram?
