Is working as a software engineer at an VC software company halal?

Asalamo alaykum,

I work as a software engineer at a software start up that offers a platform for venture capital funds to connect and analyze start-ups for possible investment. My position is mostly on the backend side, developing databases (to store startup/investor data) and working on a AI tool to analyze the performance of start-ups and the members of their teams. My concern is that any startup is able sign up and be listed on the platform - including startups that operate in non-compliant industries, but I wouldn’t say this is the majority of listings. I don’t have any choice in what companies are listed nor what industries are listed, rather I work with more ‘general’ software tasks like the ones mentioned above. The company does not invest in the startups, nor handles the deals that the VC investors choose to do, rather it makes money from providing the VCs access to the platform. My local imam said my position would be halal, but I would like some clarification.
