I am a Learning & Development(L&D) Specialist and recently a company offered me a freelancing gig. This company is a 3rd party contractor and the gig was for a Non Sharia compliant bank. While my initial position is that any work done for a haraam bank client is haraam, i want to check with the you (the scholars). My L&D work isnt haraam but is doing L&D work for a Non Sharia Bank client haraam? I recently lost my halal job and this gig has come up now - hence I want to check before i reject/accept it.

Salaam Mufti Faraz Adam. I built online training modules which was used by the bank. I was contracted by a 3rd party contractor who hired me for this gig. The online module was to train the bank employees on how to use a new system which was replacing the old system. This system was for ID management of all staff.

Assalamu alaykum Shaik, I live in India, I work for a multinational company (Deloitte) my work involves providing project management services (to check number of employees of Deloitte deployed on a project, the amount of discount Deloitte should offer to the client, sending invoiced to the client, running reports and analysis to see the profitability of the project) these clients can sometimes be banks, entertainment based, gaming based and alcohol based companies, is my income from this job halal? Also recently I received a government job offer to work as a bailiff for a civil court…can a muslim work as a bailiff?

Sure so currently I’m working for this multinational company, and my work is to support the employees of our company from Europe, these employees work for external clients and the external clients can sometimes be banks, entertainment companies, alcohol based companies etc…and my job is to make sure that we are pricing our services in a way that we make revenue, bill the client, keep a track of the amount of work completed, and create reports for decision making etc, is this halal?
What is the service/product of your company?
The services range from designing softwares for our clients, to financial advisory work, helping them in their taxes, mergers and acquisitions, and statutory audit etc…
