My understanding of riba is that you make money off of money (example interest) and you haven’t put any effort into getting back the extra money (unlike buying and selling or trade). This confuses me. How is putting your money into shares and doing nothing else then getting returns from these shares, not riba? I would be grateful if someone explained this to me.
