Is it possible that a Sukuk might be haram?

Assalamu alaikum rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Is it possible that a Sukuk might be haram? In other words, can I just freely choose ANY Sukuk and invest in? If yes, then will my income will be halal?

Second question, what if the Sukuk is used for haram purposes?

May Allah bless you.
Yes anything is possible in business. For example, you might have a Muslim restaurant selling haram meat as being halal. Hence you must check the compliance certificate of the Sukuk. If not sure, then contact the shariah board that is certifying the sukuk.
