Is being a Financial Examiner halal?

This is a confusing one, since the job is, “Financial examiners ensure compliance with laws that govern institutions (banks) handling monetary transactions (loans).”
This initially sounds haram, however, there are Consumer Compliance Financial Examiners. These focus on protecting the customer from predatory loans, and make sure that banks aren’t breaking any laws in their lending.

So, would that occupation be halal?

May Allah bless you.
While it may appear valid that the role involves safeguarding consumers’ interests, it also raises the concern that one might have to ensure the enforcement of lending agreements that contain interest clauses. This potential involvement with interest-based contracts could make the role Islamically impermissible.

And Allah knows best!
