I work at a large consulting company and an opportunity has arisen to potentially join a department in which technology / software is implemented for a wide range of investment management clients. The software can be in the Front Office, Data Management or Reporting. My main concern is around Front Office software implementation since this is facilitating the trading of bonds (which will include interest) or haram equities as well as halal.
Is this permissible? I think it is a good opportunity but I can reject the opportunity and continue in my current role/department which generally doesn’t involve working with Financial institutions.
