hello i saw this website maskio which is a cryptocurrency based on ethereum, the maskio itself is useful, because i can use that for encrypt my message on twitter so only a glimpse of people can see that, but my concern is that maybe it will be used as a speculation because i saw in their discord channel there is one channel that titled speculation on it i will give you the screenshot

see at the bottom there is a speculation channel, as islam is prohibit speculation, is it okay to use such coin, actually i also want to contribute to the coin as i am a developer, and the code of that coin is open source, is it okay if i contribute to that coin, am i gonna get jariyah sin because i contribute to such coin or is it okay to contribute as long as we don’t contribute to the speculation part?

the speculation channel is for predicting if the coin gonna go up or down, and some of them will say lets dump this coin because it crashed or hold the coin thats the purpose, as for whitepaper i dont see any because its based on ethereum

My understanding is that tokens that are based on other coins still have white papers to explain the purpose of the tokens and the project? I might be mistaken.
As for whether people who hold the token are saying to pump or dump it makes the token haram, I don’t think what the community is saying has any bearing on the permissibility of the token itself.
However, that activity and engaging in it is haram.

yeah, my question is basically even if we dont engage in such speculation, is it still permissable to contribute to the coin, do we help each other in sin? because i contribute to that coin, because i’m a developer also and that coin basically has a great purpose to encrypt a message, so basically if you want to see the message, you should buy the message then the message will be decrypted you can see for yourself the coin in mask.io

[For those who don’t know Discord, a forum or group of people who are in a community is called a server. A channel is where people actually interact with one another within the server. In this case, one of the administrators of the server would have noticed the community is interested in speculation and so they made that channel within the server so people there can talk about it in that group, as opposed to talking about it in other channels]
From my understanding, you would not be helping them in the sin at all unless you go to that particular channel on that Discord server and tell them to pump or dump.
Your contribution would only be as a developer. I don’t see why that would be sinning because you have nothing to do with their activity. You did not create the channel where they are doing what they do and you have not given any credibility to them or recognised them in any way.
