Is investing in these considered Halal? If I were to use " futures" it would make it not permissible? and making sure the company is sharia-compliant, it is okay?

Very likely, you will be trading such commodities through either CFDs or futures. As such, unless explicitly Shariah compliant, I would recommend to avoid.
