Assalamualikum,
I live in the United States and have a medical management background. I now accepted a position at the StateFarm insurance company for career stability and growth options and recently found out Working for an Insurance company per say is not permissible. However, living here almost every aspect of life has a necessity for insurance. From Medical to Auto insurance. My new position will be as a claim specialist where I will be responsible to review customer’s insurance policy and allocate the reimbursement based on the car/personal injury due to any car accident. I will not be selling contracts or involved in any transactions. I would like to know if such a position would be permissible or not in the sight of the Sharia. If it is not, then should I quit right away or continue until I find a permissible option?
