Is it permissable to work a tech job for a car insurance company in the UK, since it is permissable to have car insurance?

The ruling behind the allowance of car insurance would be different to the ruling of having a job. Each is reviewed separately on its merits.
As far as the job is concerned, it depends on the particular job role. However, there are scholars who discourage working in such sectors. It would be cleanest to not work in such sectors, however, one found a role where they are not involved in selling unlawful products or services, and are working in roles not directly involved in sales, then there can be a scope of it being acceptable as long as your services are lawful.
