Cannabis related stocks

Assalamualaikum
I would like to know if investing in stocks that manufactures equipment for the cannabis industry where it is legal is permissible in Islam?
I would like to know about the specific company ‘Surna’ (https://surna.com/)
Jazakallah Khair

Wasalam

May Allah bless you.

First of all, cannabis is considered as impermissible by most scholars.
Secondly, where consumption of cannabis has been legalised, its production is not just for medical purposes rather it is for recreational purposes too.

Based on the above, many scholars would see investing in this industry as haram.

In regards to companies like Surna, the equipment they build is not haram per se. In fact, growing equipments can be used for not just cannabis but other halal plants too.
However, because of the sort of industry they are openly supporting, it would be better to not invest in them. Any income derived from this company may be considered as impermissible at most or doubtful.

And Allah knows best!

Jazakallah for your reply.
i have made small amount of profit selling this stocks, can i give this profit money to any islamic charity as a sadqah ?

Yes but ensure it goes into the sadaqah fund.
Some charities like NZF usually have an option for collecting haram payments under the Interest heading.
