I am looking to make a small investment in Bitcoin, insha Allah. I am looking to purchase via Coinbase, with the view to sell in the next 6 months or year insha Allah.
I had a couple of questions:
- is purchasing BTC with the hope that it increases halal? Or does this constitute gambling?
- is purchasing via Coinbase permissible? I noticed they charge a ‘spread’ fee and wanted to check this wasn’t interest based or haram in any other way. Also wanted to check that any fees when withdrawing BTC to GBP are halal.
