Is it halal to invest in Medicinal Cannabis Company stocks?
Wa alaykum salaam,
Since this is for medicinal use which is a valid and lawful use, it seems acceptable to invest if it passes other Shariah screening criteria.
This is not like alcohol or something where the core substance is impure.
The substance here is pure but the use can be for lawful and unlawful ways. Therefore, if the objective of the company is to develop the lawful use for people in need, it seems acceptable.
